i read your blog, but won't watch your videos

thought it would only be appropriate to post these two videos i took whilst driving mokulele highway from the south side of maui to central maui after reading this article the other day. all too true!

should you disagree, and actually watch these videos, the first will feature two of my fingers on my left hand, illustrating the TWO lanes of this highway, and my shock that this has developed since my last visit. (affecting ye olde timey accent) "in my day, it was a single lane road!"

the second? no fingers here! just lots of wind and sugar cane fields.
and music. loud music.

maui-bound

tomorrow morning, i'll be on a plane bound for maui. it's been nearly 4 years since my last visit, far too long in my book.
perhaps there will be time for blogging, but most likely not.

keep an eye out here (beach cam at my fave beach) and maybe, just maybe, you'll see me wavin' atcha.

i'm most looking forward to not being attached to my phone the whole time. in fact, i might not answer! (gasp!)

see ya'll on the flip side.

best. download. EVER.

not words to throw around lightly, of that i'm sure.

this definitely fits into "top notch" category, as i've converted some episodes of "run's house" (my fave) for my trip to maui on friday. best of all, it's fast and user-friendly.

perhaps i'll save tonight's episodes of "entourage" and "the sopranos" until then. nah, who am i kidding, i'm too impatient to wait.

put it to good use. i know i did.

so it goes

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.' "

center field

(This is an excuse to test out mobile blogging, the geekiest of the geeky blogging world. Please note that it is even geekier because of the automatic appendage of "sent from my BlackBerry wireless handheld" that I've yet to turn off. I'm lazy. Also, there is no spell check feature so please excuse any misspellings.)

So I realized, after I dressed today, that I inadvertently (subconsciously?) wore black and orange. Halloween colors, yes, but also the colors of my G-men. Why is this significant?

Today is opening day.

Even half-asleep I still root for the Giants.

Go San Francisco!

technological

Netflix. "Net" "flix." Getting flix from the 'net.

Better yet, WATCHING flix on the 'net, as part of your subscription. I'm currently watching "Postcards from the Edge" in my unpreferred browser (it's only currently available for IE, meaning I've had to use IE for the second time since I got this new laptop, ick) but I'm looking I've found a Firefox hack to remedy this.

Granted, there are only about 1000 titles currently available, most of which I've not heard of ("Infant Massage: The Power of Touch," anyone?) and don't care to watch, there are a handful of titles that are in my queue. I have not yet encountered a delay, and the video quality is top-notch.

I may be doing another focus group for them next week (fingers crossed!) at which I'll praise them for this addition. No, I probably won't, but I'll be thinking it.

I love technology.
