i found this while thrifting a few years ago, and was thrilled, as it combines two of my great loves: found photos and photobooths,
my lovely friend angie gave me this book last year, and i've only just now started to read it. i definitely have the itch to go boothing sometime soon!

'roid week #5
how is it possible that it's the end of 'roid week already?
i snapped this the day after christmas last year, hunting around the antique row that is san carlos street in san jose. i've yet to go in this bar, but their sign is pretty sweet, and i've heard they open at 6a.
and those two things make one great dive bar.

'roid week #4
an older gentleman, who i presume to be the owner of the barber shop where i snapped this, came out as i was taking this shot. he was incredulous, asking if i truly had never seen a barber pole before. (and i thought he might be more inclined to ask about the polaroid!) i told him that yes, i've seen barber poles before, but this one was in fine shape and deserved a photo taken of it. because it really was a fine specimen.
as this pola came out, the last in the cartridge, it got a little stuck, thus the smear on the left side of the photo. i think it just gives it character.

'roid week #1
it's 'roid week over at flickr. this is the first year i've participated, and since everyone's polaroid film statsh is dwindling, who knows how many more years it will continue.
this first 'roid, taken this afternoon in my backyard, is quite embarrassing. i have more weeds than i can count, but gratefully juan the gardener (not to be confused with other men named juan en mi vida) is coming on friday.
