While browsing evite , something odd caught my eye.
I'm nothing if not dramatic when trying to capture an audience's attention, so perhaps calling Amy Poehler my "nemesis" was a tad harsh. But I should back up a bit before explaining that one.
The SF Sketchfest (thanks to Vanessa) event on Friday was, in a word, fantastic. I'd never seen the Upright Citizen's Brigade but have heard so much about their comedy that I was really looking forward to seeing them in person. The opening act, Pretty Pretty Pony out of L.A. was much better than I expected. So much so that if they're in town again, I'd make a point to see them.
It was evident that several members of the audience were there to support Will Arnett:
and many folks, myself and Lisa included, were snapping photos (sans flash to be respectful)as soon as Will Arnett came out on stage. Amy Poehler singled our group of four out, and shook her head at us and mouthed the word 'no.' Everyone continued to take photos (she didn't notice Amy's 'no') again, without the flash, and Amy gave us the most reprimanding look ever! This happened one more time before Amy really got into it and actually said the word 'no' as she was shaking her head and giving the international symbol for 'cut it out.' But! We weren't the only ones taking pix! Maybe you had to be there, but it was pretty damn funny.
Thought I'd share some pix from the event, 'scuse the fact they're a tad blurry, even though we were in the third (!) row. 
Oh! And Rachel Dratch, Horatio Sanz and Matt Besser were there, too. 
I'm looking forward to the offerings for next year's event.
(And, for the record, "Desperate Whores Housewives" is NOT a comedy and should not be included in that category. Thankyouverymuch.)
What is it with celebrities that everything is relatively well hidden before their public annoucements, but as soon as it's public, bam! the baby bump comes outta nowhere?!

Steve Buscemi as the voice of Templeton is well cast, though.
I've seen some odd things around town lately.

A couple of guys on bicycles wheeling a shopping cart filled at every angle with recyclables. 
This was my favorite.
There were two poodles in this truck, and they were sitting like people, one in the driver's seat and one in the passenger's seat. The "driver poodle" laid down just before I took this. Doesn't the dog, at first glance, look like a woman with a bad 80s perm?
