I recently came to the conclusion that I need to make things happen.
This may seem like an obvious conclusion to others, but it's evidently taken me longer than most to reach it.
I've decided to take the first step in "making things happen" by booking a trip to Park City, Utah for early 2007.
I'm not a skier or much of an outdoor aficionado, so Park City may not seem like an ideal destination for me, save for one fabulous event held in January, the Sundance Film Festival .
Friends will remember I was supposed to go in 2005, but things didn't pan out for multiple reasons. This time, instead of waiting on others, as I tend to do, I acted on my own and booked my own trip, so barring some horrible event, I'll be going.
I wanted to go to SXSW this year, but I can't blame anyone but myself about that one. I acted too late, and by the time I looked into tickets it was far beyond reasonable to attend.
Anyone up for Coachella next month?
It is also my dream to go and I have never gone simply because I havent had anyone to go with. Maybe I'll join you next year -except I think I might be in school. I'll let you know. And since I am special I dont need to book my trip more than a few days in advance. Thank god for employee discounts!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes have a bad habit of waiting for other people to plan stuff and then I'm all pissed when it doesn't happen but really I have no one to blame but myself. So I'm trying to be a bit more proactive as well.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at sunbdance! (even though I know it's still way far away). I have decided that this year I am going to Austin City Limits Festival, no matter WHAT. (I almost went last year then decided the flight would be too expensive). As the years go by I know it'll get harhder and harder to do this kind of stuff, so I better do it now while I can ,right?
