most folks know i'm in the process of buying a serious upgrade to my current camera and purchasing a dSLR.
but then, i have a great day shooting film with results straight out of the camera like this, and it makes me think, "do i really need a $1400+ camera when my little film russian toy camera kicks major ass?"
i'm thinking ken rockwell was right after all.
I have many amazing, gorgeous pictures that I've taken with the various point-and-shoot cameras that we've had through the years.
ReplyDeleteAt the same time, though, there's definite times when the little camera just doesn't perform well, and the dslr kicks major ass.
I think there's definitely something to the photographer vs camera thing, that a fancy camera won't guarantee great results and a good photographer can take incredible pictures with a cheapy camera. However having the fancy camera certainly makes it easier to take those incredible shots, and with much more freedom.
